UHR Sponsors Renovation of Destroyed UN School, Restoring Learning for 1,497 Students

A space once marked by destruction is now filled with learning, structure, and hope.

Through its sponsorship, UHR supported the renovation of part of a destroyed UN school, transforming it into a fully functioning elementary school designed to serve children who need safe, consistent access to education.

The renovated school now includes seven fully equipped classrooms, capable of accommodating 1,497 students. To meet the needs of such a large student population, the school operates on a rotation system and runs two shifts per day, ensuring every child has a place in a classroom.

Beyond rebuilding learning spaces, the project focused on creating a complete, student-ready environment. The renovation included the installation of new flooring, the construction of bathrooms, and the addition of an administrative office to support school operations. For safety and security, the project also built a perimeter fence around the site.

Each classroom was fully furnished and supplied with essential educational materials, ensuring teachers and students have what they need from day one—desks, seating, and learning resources that make classrooms functional and welcoming.

For the students and families who depend on this school, the renovation represents more than infrastructure. It represents continuity, dignity, and a renewed chance to learn in an environment built for growth.

With this project, UHR has helped turn a damaged facility into a thriving elementary school—one that can serve nearly 1,500 students every day through coordinated scheduling, complete facilities, and classrooms equipped for real learning.
