The rain downpour has stopped yet the country is still dealing with affects of flooding, and could be suffering for up to 6 more months as of October 2022. According to an interview with a flood victim, conducted by The Guardian, Muhammad Naeem Khoso states “We have no dry land left”. He goes on to tell how he, like many, have lost everything they own.
Pakistan has always been prone to floods, but this one is unprecedented in its scope and devastation. The poverty rate in Pakistan was already high before the flood, and now many people have lost everything they own. families have been forced to live in makeshift camps, without access to basic necessities.Â
UHR has created a Pakistan Flood Action Plan to provide immediate relief to those who need it the most.
