Pakistan has struggled to cope with the heaviest rains in more than a decade, leading to widespread flooding that killed nearly 1,000 people and left millions more homeless.

More than 30 million people have been affected by the floods, and the death toll is expected to rise as rains continue to lash the country. Pakistan is appealing for international assistance to cope with the disaster, which is one of the worst floods in Pakistan’s history.

UHR has created a Pakistan flood action plan, which gives food parcels, hygiene kits, bedding essentials, and even a build-a-home option to help those who have lost everything due to the flooding. Flood Relief In Pakistan

One-third of Pakistan’s land has been submerged by months of harsh flooding, turning formerly populous lands into diminishing islands. Authorities believe that more than 33 million people have already been made homeless by the flood, and some 1,500 tragic casualties occurred.

The rain downpour has stopped yet the country is still dealing with affects of flooding, and could be suffering for up to 6 more months as of October 2022. According to an interview with a flood victim, conducted by The Guardian, Muhammad Naeem Khoso states “We have no dry land left”. He goes on to tell how he, like many, have lost everything they own.

Pakistan has always been prone to floods, but this one is unprecedented in its scope and devastation. The poverty rate in Pakistan was already high before the flood, and now many people have lost everything they own. families have been forced to live in makeshift camps, without access to basic necessities.
