Monthly Food Assistance benefitting 2,600 people in Gaza

The Gaza strip is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. With a population of 2.1 million, there’s barely enough food to go around. The ongoing conflicts between Israel and Palestine made it difficult for anyone to grow or import food causing rampant hunger in the area.

The World Food Programme estimated that 68.5% of people living in Gaza are food insecure. Technically, it’s more like an open-air prison with virtually no direct access to markets and exports.

In response to this alarming situation, the United Hands Relief provided 300 food parcels as monthly food assistance in March 2022 to 2,600 Palestinians in Gaza who are in extreme poverty and have no other sources of income with which to purchase food.

It was part of our monthly food assistance program, and Gaza being among the areas with 75% of people who rely completely on humanitarian assistance and 54% of people who are food insecure; it was truly a gratitude to lend our hand to them.
