Cleft Lip Reconstructive Surgery in East Africa

Together we can make the world smile

Providing Essential Reconstructive Surgery

United Hands Relief is working to provide essential reconstructive surgery to 250 children born with cleft lip in Kenya. Cleft lip is a congenital defect that seriously impairs hearing, speech, chewing and breathing. In East Africa, approximately 10,000 infants are born with each year.
Today, reconstructive surgery can correct this defect – it can restore normal function and achieve a more normal appearance with minimal scarring.
