45 plus Syrian Refugee families in Jordan were abandoned by their sponsors and urgently need our support to survive.
During the seven years of conflict in Syria, over 660,000 registered Syrian refugees have sought refuge in the small nation of Jordan.
In a country with high unemployment and limited natural resources, opportunities for Syrian refugees to work legally are extremely limited. Refugees have found themselves trapped in limbo with little to do but wait – for over half a decade. Many are in constant fear of arrest or deportation.
The UHR team in Jordan has received many calls from refugee families who have been abandoned by their sponsors without warning. The situation has been investigated and it is confirmed by the Ministry of Social Development that these families no longer receive any form of assistance. These families do not have permits and are 100% dependent on aid received from relief organizations. Their rent was paid in full, and they received cash assistance for food, water, health and education.
Syrian refugees in Jordan are left desperate without any new sources for employment or way to support their families. UHR is appealing on their behalf for your generous support for families who have lost everything. They are depending on you to continue living month to month.
• $200 covers the rent for one month for one family
• $100 for food, water and hygiene for one month
• $50 for health and education for one month
• For $4,200, you can sponsor a family for an entire year.
